Yeah also sus. But the smell factor bothers me more. She was identifying it immediately despite the fact that burning particles would take a while to fall, unless the wind was directly blowing the smoke down at them, which was clearly not the case, or the smoke would not be rising. Sound travels faster than wind, someone with sufficient cultivation and sensitive hearing "could" pick up on it. But smells rely on the air pressure and wind, which there appeared to be very little of on the mountain at that time.
